WARNELL GRADUATE STUDENT SYMPOSIUM 2019

Every year, warnell graduate students share amazing ongoing, completed, and future research works thorough oral and poster presentation.

This year we will have oral presentation (15 mins), speed talk (5 mins), and poster presentation.

2018 GIS day at UGA

The third annual GIS day at UGA is coming up! It will be from 10 AM- 2 PM on Wednesday, 11/14/2018 at the Main Library. GIS Day is an international event in which various organizations such as schools, local government entities, and non-profits showcase how GIS (Geographical Information Science) is used in their organization. Last year our hosted more than 200 attendees.

This year, we have a variety of participants ranging from academia, such as the Department of Geography, the College of Environment Design, and Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, to government entities such as the Athens-Clarke County GIS Office and CDC. Our main event will include not only a map contest (with prizes, see the attachment), an information fair in which attendees will be able to not only see the practical applications of GIS, but also information on careers and internships in GIS. We will also have a variety of events lined up such as lightning talks, sandbox and drone demonstration. Did I mention that we would provide variety of snacks and drinks as well? We are looking for several volunteers for that day (Nov. 14th), and planning team members (who will plan the event with us a few hours a week till the event)! WGSA CRAFT SALE: NOVEMBER 7, 2018 

Are you interested in hand crafting, painting, knitting, or capturing photos? 

WGSA first annual craft sale is coming closer and we are looking for more art donations from you as a help to make this event successful.

Open to all faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students.

You will receive 20% of the proceeds generated from the sale of your art. Remaining proceeds benefit the WGSA budget allowing our events to be more festive with drink and food for all to share.

Please contact Eric Cohen at ecohen90@uga.edu If you would like to donate items for the craft sale. You can also stop by his office in building 4-228 to drop off the items.
